One of my favorite apps is Explain Everything! Explain everything is a screen casting and interactive whiteboard app that lets you annotate, animate, narrate, import, and export almost anything to and from almost anywhere. Students can export their video to the camera roll then, they could air drop it to you or upload it to their KidBlog. Students can easily do all of these functions independently. As we teach the students more apps, we will eventually get to a point where students choose the app they want to use to show their learning. We have many great content creation apps to choose from, including Explain Everything.
Here is a tutorial of how to use Explain Everything:
Some examples of 1st and 2nd graders from Mrs. Widen's blog. It is great blog with many awesome uses of technology for 1st and 2nd graders, please check it out.
One idea: Students can complete a worksheet , where they needed to use words and or pictures to answer the questions. I then instructed them to take a picture of the sheet, and explain their work. Especially in first grade, it is hard for them to write about how they solved it, so they can record using Explain Everything how they solved it.
A How to Story: Students can take pictures of the steps and then record their how to.
Students can use the drawing features in Explain Everything to tell their story or about their science skill.
Students can even make riddles using Explain Everything! Check out Mrs. Widen's blog for more ideas and center ideas.

The possibilities are endless with Explain Everything!! To share our ideas, please add your ideas on how to use Explain Everything in the comment section! Please share your student's Explain Everything videos with me. I would like to use our students work in my blog. Thanks for joining me at Centennial's Lunch Bytes.
